Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 26, 2026

This policy describes what information is handled when you visit machineers.com, how it is used and the choices available to you. Here, the operator means whoever runs the site, and we and us mean that same operator.

Data collected when you visit

Our web servers record routine visit logs whenever a page is requested. An entry can include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page you asked for, your browser and device type, and the address of the page that sent you here. We use this to keep the site running, to find faults, to block abuse and to see in general terms which articles are being read.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site may use cookies or similar storage in your browser. Some are essential for pages to display correctly. Others, where enabled, count audience numbers, remember a setting, support advertising or record which link led a visitor to another store for affiliate attribution. Any cookie set by an outside provider is subject to that provider’s own policy.

Controlling tracking in your browser

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, browse privately or use extensions that limit tracking. When a browser transmits a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we honour it as an opt-out wherever our tools are able to. Blocking some cookies may change how parts of the site work.

Emails and messages

If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever else you decide to share. Your message is used to reply to you, to fix mistakes in articles and to keep a record of the conversation. Messages are never sold, and we will ask before publishing any part of one.

Forms and newsletters

If the site offers a newsletter, comment box or other form, the details you enter are used only for that purpose, such as sending the updates you requested. Every newsletter includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also email us to have your details removed.

Outside services we rely on

Running a website involves other providers. These can include hosting and content delivery services, analytics tools, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded material such as videos, game trailers or interactive widgets. They may receive technical information about your visit so their services function. Each works under its own terms and privacy notice, and reading those is a good idea.

Retention

Visit logs are held for a limited time before being erased or condensed into anonymous totals. Correspondence stays on file only while it remains useful for replying, fixing an article or satisfying a legal duty, and is then removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to certain uses and to withdraw consent you previously gave. To make a request, email [email protected] and explain what you would like. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

Children

Machineers is written for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. Personal details are not gathered from children on purpose. If you believe a child has sent us details, please let us know and we will delete them promptly.

Security

Reasonable safeguards are in place, including encrypted connections and restricted access to the mailbox. No method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

Transfers between countries

Providers we use may process information in other countries, where data protection rules may differ from those where you live. By using the site you accept that your information may be transferred in this way.

Updates to this policy

This policy may be revised whenever the site, our providers or the law change. The effective date above shows when the current version began, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
